The Wallace ~ Revisited Pt. 1

With a fantastic collection of French paintings that rival the very best of the Louvres, The Wallace Collection is our favourite (and possibly the best) museum in London. I made a previous post of the collection from our visit about a year ago, but this time i was armed with a camera that had some fancy features, like: zooming ability, a stabilizer and great low light performance, all of which allowed for more cleaner, clearer pictures. Unfortunately my images are so big, blogger wont let me post more than these few at a time.

I especially like John Copeland's drawings, i would possibly like his paintings more if he painted in oil rather than acrylic. Why do so many talented artists waste their time with that poor excuse for paint? it's like pushing plastic! I mean just look at those drippy, sopping wet paintings, they just scream for some oil!
It just baffles me, the potential for amazing paintings wasted because they used acrylics rather than oils.
Don't you get it you acrylic users? your paintings will look 100 times better if they were painted in oils! And not only will they look better, it's way funner to paint with. How is it even a question of what medium to use? Nothing ruins a painting more than acrylic paint. I'm not criticizing the paintings, just the choice of medium!
Leave the acrylic to the shitty painters who don't know what they're doing.

oh what a feeling, to find what you've been searching for for so long!
I was just telling Joe about this movie a few days ago, this clip in particular has haunted my childhood memories. I couldn't for the life of me recall what movie it was that i had seen this boy getting carried away on the beard of some old mans' floating head. I soon fell asleep after this scene --i too, floating off to some magical dreamland-- so i never remembered the rest of the movie, but i never forgot this part.
the song is pretty good too, it soothes me, and makes me want to play the flute effect on the casio.
